Well the strings concert in November was a great success and we are anxious to get our first 6th grade band concert under way!

The 6th grade band concert is at Pronghorn Elementary and will be at 6:00 p.m. Please have your student dressed up, with their instrument, music and great attitude at Pronghorn by 5:45 p.m. There is a concert at 7:00 p.m. so don't be worried if there are cars arriving as you leave.

With the holiday season upon us this is a great time to think about Christmas gifts that will support your child's interest in their instrument. Some ideas could include, a music stand if they don't have one, a metronome (this helps them keep time), or any variety of books that the music store might have, just make sure they aren't too hard.

Remember to keep supporting your child's practice habits. A regular time and space are key to this. They need to work on things they can not do as well as end with something they love to play. A few minutes a day is better than a long session once or twice a week.

Thanks for your continued support!

Hello all from instrumental music. Things are moving right along here. The kids are learning so much. The 5th graders are starting to make some headway. Parents you should start to be hearing songs that you recognize. A reminder to all instrumental parents, keep encouraging your child in their practice. It is a very important step to learning a new skill. They should be filling out and bringing in a signed practice sheet every week. Please be supportive of their efforts, they are working very hard and need support to help them along. Please remember that they need their instrument every third day.
Upcoming events:
6th grade string parents you need to plan for a concert on Nov. 25th at 7:00 p.m.
this will be held at the CCHS-N campus auditorium.
6th grade band parents you need to plan for a concert on Dec. 5th at 6:00 p.m.
this will be held in the Pronghorn gymnasium.
Both groups need to make sure that they have dress clothes and shoes. Please make an effort to make arrangements before the concert. A nice shirt, black pants, dress shoes and socks are always a safe bet.
We are looking forward to playing some holiday music for you at both of these events. We can’t wait to see you then!
Thanks for the support of your young musician.
